IWC CONFIDENTIAL 3rd may 2015 - pre invictus
Hello, I’m Alan Lamont, and welcome to this pre-Invictus Edition of Confidential, the true inside information channel for the Independent Wrestling Cartel…cheap dig at Fortune granted. On this Invictus week, I have all the news coming out of the Cartel, so let’s get on with it.
INVICTUS III
Invictus II isn’t even in the history books yet, but as reported last time, thoughts have already turned to next year’s event and as stated the IWC boards have been looking at possible venues to use for 2016. It is my pleasure to announce that the European Tour that was muted has now been confirmed, and regardless of the brand split will now definitely take place (venues to be decided) but Invictus III has been officially signed and will come from the Nimes Arena in Nimes France. 24,000 people will get the chance to witness Invictus in its truest of forms, in a restored Roman Amphitheatre. Obviously, the IWC is unbelievably excited about this event, which is already confirmed as a joint brand PPV, and they are expecting the event to top even this year from the Staples Centre. Blaire Mcbride was quoted as saying ‘this proves that Drew and I are committed to not just maintaining the product, but advancing it beyond to compete with the other companies in the Triad who are doing unbelievably good stuff at the moment’. Drew Bryant concurred with this saying ‘France is going to witness history in the making…if you can be there, make sure you are’.
NEWAGE OVER?
As mentioned by my colleague earlier in the week, there seems to be some truth in the fact that the IWC are considering rebranding after the brand split, and only RIOT will survive the cull. As most people know, NewAge was created to give the new talent a chance to thrive, and it is thought that with the introduction of the Nxtgen product now would be a good time to change. No one within the IWC has said anything, but it is thought that it has already been decided who will run this show, and of course the rumor mill believes that this could be none other than Shaun Cruze, who just announced his retirement. As stated, we cannot confirm this at the moment, but if NewAge was to go off the air, we would expect that a lot of work has already happened to get a new brand on the airwaves, and we haven’t witnessed such a thing, so this could be all hot air. However, if a new brand is imminent, we are sure that NewAge will go down as an almighty success for the IWC juggernaut.
TITLE CONFUSION
With the brand split, something else that might become clearer is the number of titles that currently are available in the company. We can confirmed that once the brand split is over, several titles will be merged, some to remain, and others will not. In the same meetings mentioned earlier, the future of the ‘Extraordinary’, as well as William Mason’s former ‘Pure’ version, were spoken about, and it was debated if they have any part in the IWC’s new, bright future. A spokesman for the company confirmed that both brands will have three belts a piece, and the Queen of the Ring was muted to be dual brand and could be defended on either. That means that something has to give…so does that in turn mean William Mason will never see his belt validated?
THE DEAL OF THE CENTURY
Just as we were going to press, we got news that Drew and Blaire were currently working on a deal that would blow the roof off the IWC, as they were looking to sign one of the ‘biggest names on the planet’. Of course, that could describe many people, but we can confirm that this deal has nothing to do with the efforts to get Christian Savior, Johnny Kingdom and Shilo Valiant to sign full time deals. Of course, everything is top secret, but we know that the IWC board have already tried several times to sign Regan Street, but it is another name that could be the most interesting. It seems that Ethan Von Aaron has actually been approached to help with negotiations as he is good friends with the individual, that individual of course being the highly controversial Shawn Winters. Whether Shawn signs or not, their attempts show that the IWC is no longer overawed, and will compete for the very best within the Triad. On that note, it is also rumored that Drew Bryant has also approached the ULW World Champion Jason King.
THE NEXT CONTENDERS
There is no doubt that the Main Event is huge, and many people have differing opinions of who will walk out of Invictus the world champion. However, with what seems to be finality about this main event, as many epic feuds will reach a conclusion, who will be the next ones to step up to the plate and challenge for the World Championship? Although you can never be sure on these things as chaos tends to reign in the IWC, it seems that finally, William Mason will get his opportunity for the big one, as he will be rewarded for his efforts over the past year, a year that has seen him rarely defeated, and never pinned. Mason won’t get everything his own way however, because also Vanilla Skyy may also get her chance, her performances during a really turbulent time having impressed the Management and Board. Two names that might cause a lot of controversy however is that of Tina Valentine, who continues to knock over everyone who faces her, and who the board has not forgotten took Taylor Chase-Cruze all the way, the other, someone who the IWC seems to be ready to put their future behind…Andre Jordan. One name we haven’t mentioned, though we know is very highly thought of, is Scott Cannon. But it is thought he needs to get his head back in the game first, but the IWC is well aware that he could beat anyone
THE BEST OF THE BEST
As anyone who watches wrestling and indeed Supreme Championship Wrestling, the world is waiting with bated breath for the commencement of the history making tournament about to take place. This tournament will take place over many cities, and will crown the man or woman who will be the best of the best. However, with rumors of the Triad PPV that just don’t seem to go away, it seems that discussions have taken place, with the possibility of a Triad Tournament to take place over one night, to find who truly the best wrestler in the Triad is. The logistics for making a PPV have of course been written about to death, but could a tournament like this happen? And if so could it be something that could run annually? We at Confidential are certainly excited about such a thing and hope that the various parties get together to thrash out a deal in the near future.
THE FUTURE CALLING
The past two years for the IWC have all been about building a product, reconnecting with the fans that once loved the IWC, and bringing on new, young fans to the industry and stabilizing the company. With Orlando Cruze now gone, the IWC is now looking to the future, and not just building any longer, but now challenging the place that the SCW rightfully has at the point of the Triad. Awakening, or at least any PPV that replaces it, will signify the start of Season Three, and we have been told to hang onto to your hats, as the IWC has a flurry of announcements that they believe will put them back on top. Of course, this is all top secret, but the possibility of an agreement with a charity has been spoken of, as well as a huge sponsorship deal with a major manufacturer. But the one that has our interest is the introduction of a new, never seen before television deal that would see the IWC product not just popular in America and potentially Europe, but also the whole world, with people worldwide given access to the IWC product. We will of course report more on these events when we have the information, but it looks like 2016 promises to be the IWC’s biggest and best year yet.
AND FINALLY…
It seems that after months of negotiations and development, the IWC video game is ready to be released as a PS4 exclusive. Boasting a career mode, as well as online elements, this game promises to include all your favorite wrestlers, as well as legends from the past. We hear that a launch is being planned, and we should be able to bring you exclusive images soon.
That’s it from Confidential; I hope you enjoyed the show. Enjoy Invictus, and we’ll see you soon.
