IWC INTERROGATES - WILLIAM MASON
IWC: First of all William can I welcome you to the IWC?
Mason: “Yes you can. It’s my pleasure to be here.”
IWC: First up, how did it feel finally making your debut in the company, having previously been known for other federations?
Mason: “You don’t get the chance to make a first impression a lot in this business. The two places I considered home are Volatile Wrestling Alliance, the first company I worked for and Supreme Championship Wrestling, a company I have competed in off and on for five years now. The vignettes, crashing Hurse “retirement” party, feeding off the energy of the crowd reminded me of my VWA debut. Incredible.
IWC: And facing Hurse? A former World Champion and beating him? That had to feel good?
Mason: Felt great. I have waited one year to avenge my loss to Hurse at SCW’s Retribution pay per view a year ago. He thought it was cute attacking me in a Santa Claus outfit back in 2012? What goes around, comes around. Vindication was sweet. Now I can move on to bigger and better things.
IWC: How does it compare to the SCW, and if you had to state a preference which would it be?
Mason: Wrestling is wrestling at the end of the day, both companies produce the highest quality wrestling on the planet. If I didn’t feel IWC was on par with SCW, I wouldn’t be here. I’m not Porno Lad, I am not going to demonize SCW. I never had an ill word to say about IWC when I was SCW exclusive. Right now? In terms of preference? IWC. Fresh challenges. A lot of people I have not competed against, SCW I have been around the block with a lot of the talent there. Its gotten to the point where one needs to step away from the familiar to embrace the unknown. A lot of unchartered territory in IWC.
IWC: When you knew Orlando was trying to sign you, did you have any second thoughts considering the rivalry with the SCW?
Mason: Not at all. Mr. D isn’t my biggest fan, most of the people in the SCW locker room aren’t my biggest fans either, the less they see of me the better. Overall I could care less what they think, in all. I am in this business to win, not please anyone.
IWC: Question from Kelly in Baltimore…I’ve been following wrestling for a long time now, and you are one of the most charismatic wrestlers in the IWC. If you had to choose someone as charismatic in the IWC to tag with, who would it be?
Mason: Easy. Taylor Chase-Cruze. Whenever Taylor speaks, the world listens. You don’t have to agree with what she says, you need to respect what comes out of her mouth. Another charismatic superstar is none other than Alana Starr. The key to charisma is believing what you say, one hundred percent, and when Alana Starr speaks, the world listens. Check Twitter. She has a legion of followers, amazing how she can galvanize an entire industry. Ideally, the only person I would team with is my wife, Cameron. Talk about charisma? Check the GDW archives. Check every company she has competed in. She has a way with words. She earned the moniker of Queen Bee for a reason.
IWC: In the SCW you are well known for having a well-publicized split with Kelcey Wallace, something which affected your friendship with the wife of owner Orlando Cruze. You’re now married of course, but do you regret that time in your life?
Mason: I regret betraying Kelcey Wallace, she believed in me when the rest of the wrestling world felt I was damaged goods, she helped me regain my confidence, she gave me a purpose to fight for... she was my world, once. For me to betray her, she didn’t deserve that. I live with that guilt every day of my life. I want to make amends. I promised Taylor I would fix things. Don’t know how. I will. I regret hurting Kelcey, I don’t regret the time I spent in Perfect World, ultimately, if it wasn’t for Perfect World I would had retired when Rachel Frost went out of her way to break me. She almost succeeded.
IWC: Any regrets at all about your career so far? Perhaps the way you spoke down to Danny Darko at NewAge?
Mason: Danny Darko deserves the truth, he isn’t getting it from home. Vanilla, if you catch wind of this interview, I respect the hell out of you. You were there for me at a time in my life I felt completely lost. You. Mary. Danny, were all there for me. But you need to tell Daniel Darko the truth, he doesn’t have it anymore. He has no business in a wrestling ring with me. The only difference between your husband and Hurse, Hurse has a track record in IWC. Your husbands track record doesn’t mean a damn thing in IWC. Don’t force me to embarrass him. I’m afraid if Danny and I step inside a wrestling ring I will decisively embarrass him. And when that day happens you will come to grips with reality, he is not worthy of you. You will finally see Darko for who he really is, a LOSER. You don’t deserve that. You deserve to spend the rest of your life with a winner. Don’t make me regret being responsible for breaking up a story book marriage. I’m still your friend, Vanilla, as your friend I will show you the light about IWC’s resident Care Bear.
IWC: Is it not true however that you think yourself better than the rest of the IWC roster?
Mason: I believe I am the Face of IWC. Every company has a figurehead, that person is me.
IWC: Moving on…question from Clive in Nottingham England. Where so you see yourself in the IWC in a years’ time?
Mason: IWC World Heavyweight Champion.
IWC: Would you say that the world title is a fair ambition considering the talent in the IWC?
Mason: The World Championship is my only ambition.
IWC: So if that is the case, how come you never claimed the SCW world title?
Mason: I can write an entire book on why I didn’t become SCW World Champion. Short answer, I cared more about the success of my friends. I didn’t make my career goals number one. I would step aside for the people I cared about. Not anymore.
IWC: You’ve faced some of the very best this industry has to offer, and beaten many. Who would you consider your greatest rivals for that world title here in IWC?
Mason: Lucas Knight. I never beat the man, he is as good as advertised. Ba’al. My history with the Frost family isn’t a positive one. Aiken’s brother is a force to be reckoned with. Katelyn Beuller, anyone who survives the constant attacks of Rachel Foxx and company; has earned my respect. Wasn’t a fan of how Andre Jordan became Evolution Champion, he has a winning track record in this company. Mika Kozlov has her eyes on the prize. Those are just a few names. There are more. I look forward to showing all of them why I was worthy of the hype.
IWC: It’s rumored that you are considering offers from both Tabitha Silverstone and Chase Global, can you confirm this?
Mason: I have listened to both Tabitha and Adam.
IWC: And has any decision been made? If so, what attributed to the decision?
Mason: I will make no decision until I consult my wife.
IWC: Diane from New York asks why you ignored her at the recent taping of NewAge. Apparently she was the woman who asked you to sign her breasts?
Mason: *chuckles* I’m married.
IWC: Yes of course, you got married recently…how is married life?
Mason: Perfect. I have always had a vision of being married... strange coming from a guy who has probably slept with as many women as Porno Lad, my end goal from day one was to find a wife. My mother and father had a great marriage, I wanted that for myself. Living the playboy lifestyle didn’t complete me, Cameron does.
IWC: And so has the ‘old’ William Mason been put out to pasture then?
Mason: My days of bed hopping are over. Cameron Chase is the epitome of the ideal woman. No one compares to her. I would be doing myself a disservice settling for anyone else.
IWC: But on Twitter you were asking Kelcey Wallace to ‘sort things out’, you know what that sounds like right?
Mason: I am aware. I’m not worried about the perception. Cameron knows my heart belongs to her. That’s the only persons feelings that matter. I’ll leave the gossip talk to TMZ and IWC Confidential.
IWC: OK, back on topic, with Extreme Fury coming up, hardcore matches are the order of the day. So, what would be your dream match for that event?
Mason: Ideally I would be the number one contender for the IWC World Heavyweight Championship. That’s not happening, obviously. My dream match for Extreme Fury? No one on the roster other than the World Champion deserves dream match status with me.
IWC: And the reason for that?
Mason: There is a lot of talent on the IWC roster; I look forward to challenging all of them, when you use the phrase “dream match;” I have a high standard. The only person who meets that stand is the World Champion. You’re asking me to settle for less. Sorry. I don’t settle. From the cars I drive, to the women I have dated, only the best. Second class is not good enough.
IWC: Final viewer Question William…from Shaun in Beverly Hills. Is it true that the IWC fans are not seeing the real William Mason and this is all an act?
Mason: Shaun from Beverly Hills? Hahaha. Good one, Cruze.. good one.
IWC: There is a lot of stable warfare going on in the IWC…do you think you need to join one to survive?
Mason: Only if the stable is ran by me. I need to be in control.
IWC: And lastly William, the floor is yours, what do you have to say to your fans and the IWC alike?
Mason: I did not come to IWC to make friends. I am here to become the IWC Heavyweight Champion. I am here to be the “Face of the Company.” I am here to conquer. The Mason-Chase Dynasty is a reality everyone in this company needs to accept. Denying the inevitable is not an option. Oh.. and thanks for coming.
IWC: Thank you William
Mason: “Yes you can. It’s my pleasure to be here.”
IWC: First up, how did it feel finally making your debut in the company, having previously been known for other federations?
