IWC CONFIDENTIAL 15th february 2015
With the run up to Last Stand II well and truly on, here is the final Confidential before what promises to be a massive, historic event.
First of all, it is being reported that buy rates have gone through the roof for this match, this in at least some part due to the huge main event pitting Taylor Chase-Cruze against her sister Mika Kozlov. Ever since Mika defeated Taylor controversially in 2014, she has been telling anyone who will listen that she would one day be World Champion. There is little doubt that of late, Taylor has not been in the best frame of minds, and it took an intervention from Kelcey Wallace to ensure that things didn’t get even worse. If there is one thing that is for certain, now is the best time to face Taylor, and with the rumors doing the rounds that Orlando was considering pulling her from that main event, a rumor he has aggressively denied, could it be that come the end of Last Stand we will have a new champion?
If we do, who will face that champion at Invictus, by winning the Last Stand Rumble? A local Betting company in New York has been running a book on the event, and it seems that at the moment the Rumble itself is too close to predict. As always, it depends much on when certain people enter, but it seems that when ask, a poll showed that Aiken Frost is most people’s pick to be there at the very end. If that is due to his abilities as a wrestler, or if it is because he tends to find a way to get victories no matter what is uncertain. But if Mika won the world title, and Aiken was the number one contender, it would strengthen New Eden’s grip on the IWC still further.
One person keeping an eye on that situation is Silas Mason, who fresh from his explosive interrogation has now turned his eyes to the big prize, winning the Rumble itself. He has been heard to be singing the praises of Angelica Jones, saying that she is the favourite for this event; however a source close to Silas seems to think that this could be the moment that Sienna Swann steps forwards. If this is the case, have the odds of Kelcey Wallace competing gone up, and if so, will the Perfect 10’s finally face off in the ring?
But of course, with most ‘reputable’ companies, there is only one favorite to win the Rumble and that is Flash Silver. With a winning streak that goes on and on, it seems that the bookies are in agreement that nothing can stop the Flash…and have already stopped taking bets on him being World Champion at the end of Invictus. But then of course the bookies woke up…and realized that Flash Silver is one of those whose contract will be under review after Last Stand.
Another person being mentioned as a winner of the Rumble is William Mason, who seems ready at last to win the titles that his stature suggests. With his Pure Championship currently in Abigail Lindsay’s possession, is William looking to make his biggest statement to date by winning the Rumble itself? If so, another man who is finally looking to make the step up is Chris Davids, who was apparently the subject of a discussion between Orlando and the Board in a meeting a couple of days ago. Not confirmed, but it is thought that Orlando see’s big things in Chris Davids, and a win in the Rumble would fully justify what he was saying in that meeting.
Another item on that agenda was apparently Mya Denton, and her altercation with Jessica Wilde. It is well known that Orlando and Mya had a meeting, and in that meeting Mya is said to have demanded that Orlando suspended or indeed terminate Jessica Wilde’s contract. We will be keeping a close eye on this, because it is well known that Jessica was on her final warning after what happened with the Sinistry. With Katelyn Buehler facing Jessica at the PPV, will Katelyn do Orlando’s job for him?
Talking of Katelyn, she made a huge statement on RIOT, whereby she wants Abigail back, and will do anything to do so. Abigail faces Karen McBride at Last Stand, and with Abigail stating in her Interrogation that she wouldn’t be averse to reconciliation, as long as Katelyn went ‘rogue’ will we see Katelyn take the plunge to be with the love of her life?
Last Stand is of course a huge opportunity for everyone, however for three individuals it could end in a fairytale, as they will be making their debuts in one of the most stamina sapping matches known to man. Nate Lawson, Dean Daniels and Jeffrey Alexander Starxxx will all for the biggest opportunity of all in that event, know that if they can someway endure, they will become the Number One Contenders in their very first match. A group of people who will NOT allow that to happen is Tina Valentine and her Slay Revolution, because Tina believes that is her shot at the big time, a shot that she believes should be hers by right. She and her friends have been quite vocal against Orlando of late, and it will be interesting to see what Orlando will do if she, or any of her colleagues win.
One thing that still hasn’t been confirmed is the ‘surprise’ competitors that appear every year to add a special favour to the event. Over the past couple of months many names have been mentioned, including former World Champions in this very company. David Helms has also had a mention, as well as Yvonne Knight, Kathryn Pearson and many more. But, could we see someone from even further in the past, as it is claimed by someone on the board that Johnny Kingdom has been approached, as well as Psycho, and indeed Riggs. There is no doubt that there will be surprises, but any of these names would take it off the chart.
Has Gavin Taylor’s momentum stalled, and is it due to Madison Chase? That is the question doing the rounds backstage at the moment. Gavin was on a roll, but he saw that abruptly ended on RIOT, when he was taken out by Kellen Jeffries and put through the announce table. All of this due to a distraction as he wife was being threatened with kidnap. Gavin was beginning to get somewhere in the IWC, it would be a shame to see all that go to waste. But to his friends, it seems that he is telling them that the Evolution title isn’t important…ending Kellen Jeffries is
And before we come away from the Rumble itself, nothing has been heard of Scott Cannon since his abduction, and we can only assume that Chris still has him under lock and key. We saw that Taylor was cured from New Eden’s influence, could it be that Scott is undergoing the same treatment. Either way, it puts a lot of doubt into his partnership with Alana Starr, a partnership that could have been quite fruitful if used in the Rumble match. With Bad Behavior and Psychomachia both having claims on a Tag shot, and Brittany Lohan and Marie Jones waiting at Last Stand, are we about to see the end of the GOOD Villains?
One match that seems to have captured the imagination of the public is Paul Garret versus Mason Von Stanton, but it is thought that one person who isn’t impressed is Ethan Von Aaron who has stated that this cannot be a match of the super-agents if he isn’t in it. Ethan will be at Last Stand to support Rachel Frost who is yet another who could be considered a favorite to win the whole damn thing, so it isn’t beyond the realms of possiblilty for him to get involved in this match. And with him being a former IWC World Champion, there could only be one winner surely
Perhaps a match that has been pushed to the backburner due to the Rumble and the controversy surrounding the World title match is the Queen of the Ring match where Jessica Lasiewicz will face Marina Valdivia and Selena Frost. If there are two people that have shown that they deserve a shot it is these two that have been very impressive since coming to the IWC. But Jessica has shown that she was ready for the title, and in her first huge defence, will not let go of the title lightly. Perhaps something that has been forgotten is Tina Valentine and Amanda Blayze, who both believe that should be in this match, and may want to make a point. Either way, come the end of the PPV, the QOTR picture will probably be even more confusing, because Lilith Evans is someone who has been quite quiet of late, and could use Last Stand to make her impact.
Even with Last Stand not yet over, people are already looking towards Invictus, and this could be said for many of the roster who have now been here for a while, who will be looking to get a place on that PPV, and for one of the titles. Ember Young is one of those people, as is Julia Noel, and Julia has made it her goal to ensure that she is ahead of Ember by the time Invictus comes around. How she is going to do that is unsure, but it is thought that she may have had discussions with Ms. Budde of Silas World, perhaps with a view to a future arrangement. Do Silas and Mason Von Stanton know about this, we are not sure, but is Ember is going to need to have eyes in the back of her head?
A rumor that was broken by Darren Fortune, @triadrumours seemed to imply that Vanilla Skyy and Danny Darko were having issues, based primarily around Danny’s refusal to believe that Mordecai is more than a monster, and can be of use to Pain and Pleasure. It is thought that Vanilla has issued Danny with an ultimatum, and if that is the case, what will Danny do? There is little doubt that Vanilla has had a huge effect on Danny’s career, could we soon see a different, darker pardon the pun, Danny Darko?
Looking ahead to Last Stand, could we be about to see an explosion of possible the most brutal Tag Team to ever compete in the IWC. There is little doubt that the Blacklist has been on the edge for a while now, but with Lukas having been heard backstage that he will ‘kill’ Mika Kozlov, will Aaron allow that, or will this be the rod that breaks the camel’s back. These two are two of the hardest hitting, hold nothing back wrestlers on the planet, and if they do split, expect the fallout to be huge and wide ranging, and neither of them stopping till the other is finished. Is Mika Kozlov about to get her biggest wish…her cowboy back and on the side of New Eden?
With Invictus getting closer, that means that the brand split does as well, and rumors are still rife as to who the General Managers of each brand will be. Although not confirmed, it looks like Sebastian Blake has won the bidding to own the company, but will he run both brands himself, or put people in place. With all the permutations going around, and the possibility of two world champions as well as ‘brand only’ PPV’s, excitement isn’t just brewing for Invictus, it is being heightened by a new, exciting era of IWC. One thing is for certain, if SCW weren’t concern about the IWC before, they will be by this news that promises to shake up the business, and put the IWC firmly back in the race to be the top company in the Triad. There is little doubt that the Sinistry hurt the company, but it seems that this news, and a fresh face in charge, is what the board believes will really take the company places.
And finally, just as we were compiling this round up, and interesting conversation has taken place between Kloe Masters and Aiken Frost, and it has set the industry alight as to what Kloe is doing back in a business she claimed she was finished with. Hopefully we will know more by the time we air again.
But till then, make sure that you enjoy Last Stand II, and we shall see you on the other side, on the road to Invictus.
Take care
